Get Involved

There are many ways people can get involved in our struggle. Naturally we prefer supporters to put 'feet on the street' and travel with us to any demo we attend, but we understand that due to disability, young children, employment, lack of funds etc.. that this is not always possible, so with that in mind here is details of both 'active' and 'non-active' ways you can join us.

Active:
To be active and attend a demo with us will not be as expensive as you may think, the most expensive cost that you will find is your coach fare. Remember that unlike many other organisations it is totally free to join the EDL, there is no membership fee or weekly/monthly subscriptions required from you.
For ease of travel we also have pick up points throughout the North East, simply decide which one is best for you and get there in time for the coach to pick you up.

Example of cost to attend a Yorkshire EDL demo:
Fuel to pick up point: £1.50 (fuel max)
Coach fare: £15.00 (average)
Food: £5.00 (or take your own)

For those of you that want to become even more active you will see various 'Meet and greets' advertised on facebook throughout the North East (usually on the run up to a demo). These meetings are great for those who want to meet their local EDL division or who may have a question or two that they would like to ask.
The NE EDL meet and greets you may see advertised are different due to the fact that these meetings are for all of the NE divisions to attend as one. At these meetings you can meet your local County organiser (CO), division admin and your Regional Organiser's (RO).
Meet and greets are a great way to get to know us, get questions answered, share ideas and find out details of any future protests that may be in the pipeline.

Non-Active:
The good news is there are many other things you can do which is just as important as attending protests. Take a look at the list below for an example of what you could do to help us (depending on your skills).

1: Leaflet distributor
2: Artwork design
3: Promo video editing
4: Article author
5: News gatherer
6: Recruit family/friends

There really is no excuse for not getting involved in some way if you are certain you want to join us.
